3.5 stars! Rounded up on Amazon and Goodreads.
This is my favorite book from B. T. Harris! It is definitely darker than the others, especially when Tyran is involved, which adds to the tension and thrill of the read.
The only thing that sets me back on this book was that I thought it was too easy for Sabastian and his apprentice to finish their mission. I understand that Tyran has a plan for the professor, and I’m excited to see what comes from it; however, I just thought that the story had a great build up, but then fell a little flat where Sabastian and Jane are concerned. That being said, it didn’t stop me from enjoying the book as a whole. I enjoyed how the trio finally met up and the sphinx was an engaging character. The story had a good pace and was easy to read!
In addition to the book, the author also included a short story at the end. The story was fun and quick to read. It also shed some light on the heir of the dark lords. It would be really interesting to read more from his perspective.
