The Brooklyn Sunflower by Patrick Edward Tarpey

The Brooklyn Sunflower was such a fun, short book of poetry and photography! Poetry and photography just go together, and I’m always excited to read something like this. Plus, the book cover is very eye-catching.

One of my favorite poems from the collection is titled “Stingray Driver” and ends with these two lines: “The mystery of the driver/Challenges the road.” It made me smile. I always think of how the road my life is on is unpredictable, but maybe it’s just me being unpredictable. Makes me wonder about destiny versus choice, and I’ve been thinking about this poem ever since!

I read Patrick Edward Tarpey’s poetry in one sitting and wished there was more. I would recommend reading his book to anyone who likes poetry, wants to try poetry (reading or writing it), or doesn’t have a lot of free time as it is a quick read.

A big thank you to the author for gifting me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review! Get your copy here!
