Bloom was one of the more entertaining graphic novels I have read. A solid four stars!
Though Ari is the main character, he seemed needy at times and confused, but it makes sense that the issues in the book caused him to be this way. After all, don’t most of us—at some point—question what our purpose in life is? Luckily for Ari, Hector came into the story. Hector is my favorite character in the book. He was sweet, smart, and had a good head on his shoulders. I often found myself feeling happy or sad for him.
The plot had plenty of realistic problems, and though it is easy for me to read graphic novels too quickly, this one had a good pace and twists and turns in it that I didn’t see coming. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed reading it and studying the wonderful blue-tinted illustrations.
